Coca-Cola’s CFO Gary Fayard To Retire

Coca-Cola has announced that its chief financial officer, Gary Fayard, will return in May.

Fayard joined the group as VP and Controller over twenty years ago. He held the position of CFO since 1999.

Chief executive Muhtar Kent said the outgoing CFO would leave a legacy of financial strength across the global organisation, and “the successful development of leaders who will now steward the growth of our system”.

“He has been my trusted adviser, providing leadership, guidance and, importantly, a dry wit,” he added.

Fayard will be succeeded by the current vice president of Finance and Controller, Kathy Waller.

Having joined Coca-Cola from Deloitte in 1987, she has held the current position since 2009.

She is leader of the group’s Women’s Leadership Council and was also involved in developing Coca-Cola’s Women in Leadership global programme.

Earlier this week, Coca-Cola said it would intensify its cost-cutting to produce another $1 billion in savings by 2016.
