Heineken International beverages will soon reappear in JD Wetherspoon pubs, in both Britain and Ireland, following a partial resolution between the two companies.
Though Beamish and Foster's will be available to the chain's clientele in the Republic, Murphy’s and Heineken will remain off the menu.
As part of the deal, Wetherspoon will begin offering Heineken, Foster's, Kronenbourg 1664, Strongbow, John Smith’s Extra Smooth, and Amstel in its UK outlets once more. Beamish, Foster's, and Symonds Cider will be made available in the chain's Irish pubs.
Consumers in Ireland, however, won’t be able to avail of reduced-price Heineken or Murphy's, as the agreement does not incorporate these brands.
"We are pleased to have reached agreeable commercial terms with Heineken. In the Republic of Ireland, we will serve the three Heineken products at prices in line with our other products," commercial director Paul Hine said in a statement.
