Nestlé To Introduce Plant-Based Nesquik In Europe

Food giant Nestlé has announced plans to launch a plant-based version of Nesquik in Europe.

The company will roll out the ready-to-drink beverage in Spain, Portugal and Hungary, followed by the rest of Europe.

The drink, made with 100% natural ingredients, combines the goodness of oats and peas with sustainably sourced cocoa.

The sugar content of the product is lower than regular milk-based Nesquik, the company added. Also, it is lactose-free and certified by the Vegan Society.

'Plant-Based Products'

Yasser AbdulMalak, head of dairy products for Europe, Middle East and North Africa at Nestlé, commented, ”What better way to bring more plant-based products into people's everyday lives than with much-loved brands like Nesquik.

“We’re really proud of this new drink – it really hits the spot with that familiar Nesquik cocoa taste."

The vegan Nesquik adds to Nestlé’s dairy alternative range and reiterates the company’s aims to offer tasty, authentic plant-based food and beverages for consumers.

A 'Nutritious' Option

Mayank Trivedi, head of the dairy strategic business Unit at Nestlé, added, “More and more people are looking for tasty and nutritious plant-based options. That is why we are adding them to our global line-up through some of our most trusted brands such as Nesquik, Milo, and Ninho. There is more to come, so watch this space.”

This year, Nestlé launched its first dairy alternative drink for children under its Ninho brand in Brazil.

The plant-based Ninho Forti+ is an oat-based, ready-to-drink beverage, available in strawberry and banana, and apple and banana variants with fruit pulp.
