Cherkizovo Group Sees Pork Sales Volume Up 20% In May

Russian meat producer Cherkizovo Group has reported a 20% year-on-year growth in pork sales volumes, to 25,260 tonnes, in May 2020.

The company’s pork production grew by 19% to 25,790 tonnes from 21,750 tonnes in the same period last year. 

The average price of pork declined 15% to RUB 83.19 per kilogram.

Poultry Sales

The sales volume of turkey grew by 8% year-on-year, to 3,200 tonnes, while the average price per kilogram increased by 11% to RUB 182.70.

Last month, the company commenced turkey exports to China with a 27-tonne shipment from Tambov Turkey, a joint venture between the meat producer and Spain’s Grupo Fuertes.

Chicken sales volume for the period saw a 6% growth, to 60,080 tonnes, while the average price per kilogram dropped by 2% to RUB 101.45.

Cherkizovo's meat processing division posted a 1% decline in sales volume to 20,600 tonnes.
