FrieslandCampina Introduces Campina Organic Dairy Range
Dairy giant FrieslandCampina has introduced a range of wholly-organic dairy products, including organic milk, buttermilk and yogurt.
The range is sourced from Dutch farmers that adhere to European regulations for organic production, and are annually checked by inspectors from Skal, an independent organisation supervising organic production in the Netherlands.
Animal welfare is of high priority at all production facilities, with cows able to roam both indoors and out, and all feed sourced organically, and where possible, locally.
"We are really proud to introduce Campina Organic: dairy that is domestically produced, by Dutch farmer families," said Marloes Schulte, marketing director at FrieslandCampina Consumer Dairy Netherlands.
"It is great to see the enthusiasm about the launch of Campina Organic by the farmers themselves. We will keep innovating in order to continue to fulfil the needs of our consumers."
All Campina Organic dairy products are packaged in climate-neutral packaging that can be full recycled, the company said. Both the cap and the coating used in the packaging are made from organic residual materials.
In February, FrieslandCampina posted a 10.1% increase in sales for full year 2017, with was boosted by boosted by higher sales prices and the acquisition of Engro Foods, a business in Pakistan.
However, its profits fell by 37.3% for the period, due to the write off of certain assets in China and Germany, restructuring costs, as well as negative currency impacts.
