Nationwide Fresh Produce Promotion To Take Place In France

Fresh produce sales in French supermarkets may be up this summer, with a nationwide promotional campaign orchestrated by Interfel, designed to boost consumption of fruit and vegetables, due to take place this month.

Interfel’s purpose is to increase public awareness of fresh produce, and the group represents growers, suppliers, retailers and on-trade outlets. It has been recognised by the European Union since 1996.

LSA.fr describes the promotional push, which will extend “to every nook and cranny of France,” as an effort “to make the public discover or re-discover fruit and vegetables.”

Ten of France’s major cities will host treasure hunts to mark the event, and 36,000 French villages have been invited to organise picnics. La Fête des Fruits et Légumes Frais will run from 10-19 June.
