Specialist Fresh Produce Supermarket Opens In Burgundy
Frais d’Ici, a fresh produce specialist store brand created by the French cooperative In Vivo, has opened a second supermarket in Chenôve, Burgundy, LSA reports.
This is the follow-up to the original Frais d’Ici store opening in Portet-sur-Garonne , near Toulouse, which opened a year ago. Both supermarkets stock a selection of 2,500 products, of which at least 1,500 are categorised as fresh produce.
70 per cent of Frais d’Ici’s goods are locally sourced from 150 suppliers within the Burgundy region.
Jean-Pierre Dassieu, chief executive of In Vivo’s consumer division, said, “This is not a ‘premium’ store. If we cannot find certain products in the region, we search for them elsewhere, and this is particularly the case when it comes to fruit and vegetables.”
The supermarket opening follows an investment of €1.5 million.
