Total Produce Sees ‘Positive’ Trading In First 10 Months

Fresh produce firm Total Produce said that trading remained positive in the first 10 months to 31 October 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a trading update, the company said that sales were resilient in this period, with wholesale and retail offsetting the reduced demand from the foodservice sector.

Strong Presence

It attributed this performance to its strong presence in the global fresh produce industry, the diversity of its operations and products, and the 'exceptional response' from its employees to meet the challenges posed by the pandemic.

The company expects sales, adjusted EBITDA, and adjusted earnings per share to be slightly higher than in full year 2019.

Total Produce added that it has been awarded the Origin Green Gold Standard, which recognises excellence in sustainability practices.
