Acqua Sant’Anna Introduces New Bottle Formats

Italian natural-mineral-water company Acqua Sant’Anna has introduced a range of new bottle sizes as part of its innovation strategy for boosting growth, reports La Repubblica.

The new formats include a 25cl bottle that can fit inside a handbag and a 25cl bottle featuring a sports cap, the latter of which is aimed at children. A 75cl and a one-litre bottle were rolled out earlier this year.

Previously, Acqua Sant’Anna launched a 1.5-litre bottle made of a plant-based biopolymer that dissolves after use in fewer than 80 days in the compost.

Expansion Plans

Last year, the company invested €50 million to buy five new bottling lines, enabling it to increase production capacity to about three billion bottles per year.

These moves are necessary to ensure further growth in Italy and expansion to other countries. Speaking to La Repubblica, company founder Alberto Bertone said that priority will be given to markets such as France, Germany and Northern Europe.

Sant'Anna also markets iced tea and other beverages. The company is among the top 25 Italian food and beverage manufacturers, and its 2016 turnover reached €280 million.
