ESM TV Meets ... Ingrid Caldironi, Bulk Market, London

Bulk Market is described as 'London's first plastic-free shop', where consumers are encouraged to bring their own empty jars, containers and other receptacles in order to make a purchase.

It's a novel concept that has already been seen in other European markets, but as proprietor Ingrid Caldironi explains, this store is a first for the UK capital.

As Caldironi tells ESM, she hopes that, through awareness of this concept, retailers and big businesses will adopt a more proactive approach to packaging waste, such as the introduction of packaging-free aisles.

The store is currently one month into a three-month lease as a pop-up shop in trendy Dalston, London, and has already garnered interest from media outlets in the UK, Sweden, South Africa and a myriad of other markets.
