UK-based MacFarlane Packaging has launched its Macfarlane Packaging Innovation Lab, a £300,000 facility designed to educate customers about creating packaging solutions.
The lab, which is located in Milton Keynes, in England, aims to bring the latest in packaging technology together under one roof. The lab features:
- Interactive touchscreen technology
- The latest protective-packaging design software
- A printer/cutting table
- Modern packing benches
- A packaging-solutions showroom
Customers can design their own packaging solutions that can help in areas such as packaging costs and efficiency, transport costs, returns and customer experience.
"The Macfarlane Packaging Innovation Lab is a stimulating, open, dynamic and engaging place," said Ivor Gray, its commercial director.
"Innovation starts with the people who work for us, and our Innovation Lab has been designed to ensure that there are no bounds to their imagination when seeking out smart solutions for our customers. We want to convert our customers’ challenges into ideas."
Headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, Macfarlane Packaging is the UK’s largest packaging distributor.
