Packaging firm Smurfit Kappa has been awarded the European Innovation Recognition Award for outstanding innovation proposals by Nestlé Fibre Packaging Categories, for the second year running.
In a statement, the company said that the award was presented for ‘exceptional innovation proposals across Europe and is judged by internal stakeholders at Nestlé on the basis of a series of solutions demonstrating innovation, proactivity and practicality’.
Smurfit Kappa developed seven point of sale and packaging concepts for Nestlé in 2015, including the Easy Erect Display, which is delivered flat and can be erected in store in less than three seconds.
“To be recognised by Nestlé for our approach to innovation for two consecutive years is an outstanding achievement that we are very proud of,” said Mike Drummond, VP pan European sales at Smurfit Kappa.
“This award once again demonstrates our ‘Open the future’ strategy where we work in partnership with our customers to deliver real insights, true innovation and operational excellence. This achievement is testament to our designers and retail experts who work collaboratively with the Nestlé team, who in turn continue to be open to new thinking, ideas and innovations.”
