Aldi UK Selling Fairtrade T-Shirts As Part Of Fairtrade Fortnight

Aldi’s UK and Irish supermarkets are selling Fairtrade t-shirts – t-shirts made entirely from Fairtrade-guaranteed cotton – as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.

The t-shirts will be available until March 13, and come in blue, white and grey, costing between £3.99 and €6.99.

On its UK website, it said, “We’re committed to sustainable development, fair wages and ethical working conditions throughout our supply chains. This is why we support Fairtrade, which ensures that producers and growers across the world are given a fair price for their products."

“Everyone gets a fair deal when you buy Fairtrade,” the multinational says of its Fairtrade Fortnight, “Which is why Aldi has been sourcing Fairtrade for over 5 years, helping hundreds of farmers, workers and their families get a fair deal for the food they harvest as well as access to education, medicine and more.

"Supplying coffee from Costa Rica and roses from Ethiopia means Aldi can be sure farmers get a good price for the food they harvest. So, let’s celebrate 20 years of Fairtrade in Ireland and look forward to another 20 more."
