Ardagh Group Expands Can Manufacturing Capacity In The US

Ardagh Group has announced plans to add two new high-speed beverage can manufacturing lines at its Olive Branch facility in Mississippi to meet the growing demand for infinitely recyclable beverage cans.

The new lines will commence production by the end of this year, the company added.

'Capacity Expansion'

Claude Marbach, CEO, Ardagh Metal – Beverage North America said, “This is one of a number of significant capacity expansion investments we are initiating to meet growing demand, as consumers and customers increasingly recognise the sustainability advantages of beverage cans.”

He added that beverage cans contribute to high recycled content rates and drive the effectiveness of municipal recycling systems.

The addition of the new production lines will create more than 80 new jobs, taking the total number of employees at the plant to more than 200.

Initially, production will focus on Ardagh Sleek™ line packaging for hard seltzers, beer, energy drinks and teas.

The Ardagh Olive Branch facility, built in 1988, is spread across an area of more than 20 acres.
