France's Système U To Scrap Private Label Line ‘Bien Vu’

French retailer Système U is to scrap its premium private label line Bien Vu as a result of falling sales figures, Linéaires has reported.

The SKUs that appear under the line at present will be sold under the grocer’s more generic brand Madrange. Among these is its ‘choice’ cooked shoulder of pork product.

Though a private label brand, the retailer's identity, Système U, in fact does not appear on the packaging of Madrange products.

Linéaires notes that Carrefour, since 2014, has discontinued printing ‘Carrefour’ or the Carrefour logo on its top-range private label goods, though it does still appear on its own name on its Carrefour Discount SKUs.
