Forty Start-Ups Selected To Showcase At SIAL Paris Future Lab

Some 40 start-up projects have been selected to present their new products, equipment and services in the upcoming SIAL Paris trade fair in October.

All participants will give their presentations at the Future Lab area at the trade fair, as well as during pitches at SIAL TV.

In March of this year, more than 70 start-ups presented their projects before SIAL's international jury to book a spot at the Rising Start-ups area of Future Lab @ SIAL Paris.

The First Edition Of #SIALRISINGSTARTUPS

Out of a total of 76 submissions, from 12 countries, 69 were selected for evaluation.

The jury session took place on 29 June at the Palais des Papes in Avignon, to choose the most innovative companies to participate to Future Lab.

The 11-member jury, presided over by Philippe Mauguin, President of INRA, comprised of:

  • Xavier Boidevezi, VP Digital Factory SEB Group, national secretary of French FoodTech
  • Philippe Goetzmann, Corporate relations director - Auchan
  • Laurent Cousin, R&D director - Sodexo
  • Christian Polge, President of Aurora Invest
  • Anne-Claire Paré, Managing director - Bento
  • Xavier Terlet, Managing Director - XTC
  • Véronique Sestrières, Show director – All4Pack
  • Vasso Papadimitriou, Managing director of Federation of Hellenic Food Industries - Greece
  • Concha Avila, Research and innovation director of FIAB - Spain)
  • Thomas van den Boezem, StartLife – Netherlands

The Rising Start-Ups Of Future Lab – SIAL Paris 2018

#SIALRISINGSTARTUPS is Europe's first forecasting space dedicated to rising start-ups in the food industry sector.

The project was conceived in partnership with the IDEFI-ECOTROPHELIA network and AgroParisTech. The projects were selected based on their boldness and innovativeness.

The Rising Start-Ups project will be carried out in partnership with the European University Network. It will provide maximum visibility to start-ups during their launch, which is a crucial stage in the life cycle of budding businesses.

Participants of #SIALRISINGSTARTUPS will get the opportunity to share their experiences with a panel of entrepreneurs, investors, potential clients and the media, opening up possibilities to emerge as future leaders in the food industry.
