US retail giant Kroger has appointed Keith G Dailey as its new group vice-president of corporate affairs.
He will succeed Jessica Adelman in his new role and report to senior vice-president and chief people officer, Tim Massa.
Most recently, Dailey served as the vice-president of corporate affairs.
Seasoned Professional
He is a seasoned professional with almost 20 years of experience in public affairs, including a decade in electoral politics and government, the company said.
Rodney McMullen, Kroger's chairman and CEO, said, "He combines broad public affairs experience with knowledge of Kroger's corporate character and belief that business can be a force for good."
In 2011, Dailey joined Kroger as chief spokesperson and director of corporate communications.
He was responsible for leading national media relations, financial and executive communications, and issues and crisis management.
He also holds leadership roles in The Kroger Co. Foundation and The Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation.
'A Key Architect'
McMullen added, "As a key architect of Zero Hunger | Zero Waste, Keith's strategic and inclusive leadership has advanced Kroger's position as a national thought leader and authentic advocate for ending hunger, eliminating waste, and other social impact initiatives."
In 2016, he assumed responsibility for government relations, policy, and advocacy in the company and was promoted to the role of senior director of external affairs.
In the following year, he took on the role of senior director of corporate affairs and assumed the responsibility for associate communications and engagement.
In 2018, he was promoted to the position vice-president of corporate affairs.
Dailey also serves on the boards of the Center for Food Integrity and the Cincinnati Regional Business Committee.
He holds a dual bachelor's degree in philosophy and politics and government from Ohio Wesleyan University.
