Lenta Opens Two New Supermarkets In St. Petersburg

Russian retailer Lenta has announced that it has opened two new supermarkets in St. Petersburg.

The first store, located in 6 Mikhaila Dudina street, has a sales area of 982 square metres.

It is equipped with nine cash registers and offers parking for approximately 100 vehicles.

The second store, located in 25 Dunaisky avenuе, offers a sales area of 1,079 square metres, nine cash registers, and around 80 parking spots.

The new openings take the total number of Lenta stores in Russia to 248.

The New Supermarkets

The new stores house a wide variety of products that cater to the needs of customers in the Russian city.

The stores offer around 9,500 to 10,000 SKUs, including, among others, Lenta’s private label products, national brands as well as local produce.

Both stores, previously operated by Spar, have been redesigned by Lenta for better customer experience.

The layout of both stores has been designed to focus on fresh fruits, berries as well as healthy food.

Expansion Plan

In 2019, the company allotted RUB 1.9 billion (€24 million) to open 29 supermarkets in Moscow between 2020-2021 in association with ADG real estate development group.

The company had also leased twelve former SPAR outlets in St. Petersburg.
