Carrefour's 'Livraison Express' Delivery Service Set For Lyon

French retailer Carrefour is rolling out its 'Livraison Express' service to Lyon. The service is already available in Paris and Neuilly-sur-Seine.

The online delivery service was launched in 2016.

With 'Livraison Express', customers can have around 3,000 everyday products delivered to them within the hour and can select a 30-minute delivery slot.

Carrefour says the service offers a wide selection of fresh produce (more than 50 types of fruit and vegetables available), grocery products and a few everyday non-food products.

Customers can purchase their items 24/7 online and the retailer is working on a dedicated 'Livraison Express' app with the option of tracking their deliveries in real time.

The delivery service operates between 9 am and 10 pm Monday to Saturday and is carried out by French start-up Stuart - a delivery service that specialises in deliveries by bicycle and cargo bike. Delivery costs €4.90.

By offering short half-hour delivery slots for its express delivery service, Carrefour aims to meet the needs of city-dwellers who they say really appreciate being able to choose when they can expect their shopping.

This service is offered in Paris, Neuilly, Levallois, Malakoff, Vanves and Bagnolet and will be extended to Lyon in May 2017.
