Morrisons Adds New Features To Its Online Food Box Service

UK retailer Morrisons has announced a set of new measures to meet the growing demand for its online food box service.

In the past week, the demand for Morrison’s food boxes went up by 56% as cases of coronavirus continued to increase in the country.

Customers will now have the option of weekly, fortnightly or monthly food box deliveries under a new subscription service.

It will ensure regular and predictable home delivery of groceries to customers’ doorsteps, the retailer added.

Shoppers will also receive a 5% discount for availing of this subscription service.

Besides, the retailer is also offering an additional 20% discount on the first purchase to customers switching to the food box service.

'Affordable Food'

Director of Food to Order for Morrisons, Aidan Buckley, said, ”Customers use our food box service to get fresh food and cupboard essentials delivered to their doorstep quickly.

“We are making the service simpler and even better value to ensure everyone can get access to affordable food at this difficult time.”

Morrisons has dedicated its facility in Wakefield with hundreds of staff members to prepare the food boxes.

The Food Box Range

The retailer has introduced the ‘Feed a Family Recipe Box’, which includes five meals for a family of four for £30.

Priced at £22, the 'Cupboard Essentials' box offers long life milk, soup, rice, pasta, tuna, beans, custard creams, wine gums and even a four pack toilet roll.

Other food boxes include a series of weekly ‘food parcel’ style 'Essentials Boxes' for meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans; fruit, meat and fish boxes for households that want to stock up; and gluten-free and lean meat boxes for customers with special dietary requirements.

Shoppers can also access beers, wines and gin boxes, along with flowers for themselves or as gifts for others.
