Spar Increases Export Of Croatian Products By 7%

The Croatian unit of grocery retailer Spar exported over €60 million in local products in 2016, an increase of 7% compared to the previous year.

The highest growth of Croatian products were exports to Austria (+18%).

Since the Croatian accession to the European Union in 2013, Spar Hrvatska has been successfully cooperating with Croatian producers in the marketing of their products in Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy.

Highlights include the listing of Gavrilović cured meats on shelves of Spar stores in Austria; the export of Alden’s cod products for the Italian market; the doubling of exports of Cromaris products to Slovenia; as well as strong growth in exports achieved by Sardina to Austria and Mandarinko To Slovenia.

Last month, Spar announced it will take over 62 Billa stores and a logistics centre in Croatia, taking its store total to over 100 (hypermarkets and supermarkets).
