Tesco To Close Jack’s Store In East Lancashire, Reports Suggest

Tesco will close its Jack’s store in Rawtenstall in East Lancashire, a year after the retailer launched the discount format, media reports suggest.

The 40,000 square-metre store will switch back to a Tesco supermarket following customer feedback, according to a report in the Retail Gazette.

All employees of the store will be transferred to Tesco, and new roles will also be created.

The store in Rawtenstall, which opened earlier this year, was previously a Tesco superstore.

In September 2018, Tesco launched the discount chain to compete with German discounters Aldi and Lidl.
