Waitrose & Partners has announced that it has added two new products to its eco-friendly laundry solutions range, following an increase in demand for sustainable products.
The sale of environmentally-friendly laundry products has increased by more than 40% in Waitrose outlets, the retailer said.
Laundry buyer at Waitrose & Partners, Andrea Watson, said, "Our customers are passionate about shopping [more sustainably], from wanting less food packaging to being environmentally responsible with household jobs.
"These new and innovative products offer more choice to help shoppers be cleaner and greener."
New Products
The new additions include GuppyFriend Washing Bag and ecoegg Laundry Eggs.
The washing bag prevents microfibres from entering the water during a washing machine cycle, which make their way into rivers and oceans.
Laundry Detergents
The ecoegg Laundry Eggs offer an alternative to laundry detergents and is free of harsh chemicals, Waitrose said.
The product contains two types of mineral pellets that give optimum cleaning results and can be used for up to 70 washes.
The assortment will also include ecoegg Dryer Eggs, a product that reduces tumble drying time and creasing.
