Auchan Retail Italia has received the 'Le Fonti' International Award for Excellence, in the category 'Innovation: Large Distribution'.
Now in its sixth edition, the award, sponsored by the province of Milan, the Lombardy region and the European Commission, aims to reward Italian excellence in the industrial, professional and financial sectors.
The jury recognized Auchan's commitment to bringing an increasing number of Italian SMEs in contact with businesses in countries such as France, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, China and Taiwan, and for having created an online platform dedicated to its suppliers, to help in the deployment of an international network.
To date, Auchan's Export project has brought 1,200 references from 145 Italian SMEs to store shelves in 25 countries, including products from the Auchan private label range.
According to Alessandro Montanari, Director Import-Export Auchan Retail Italia, the company is looking at increasing the offer to South America, Japan and Africa.
