Cherkizovo Group To Fight 'Unfair Competition' In Transporting Agricultural Produce

Russian meat producer Cherkizovo Group has signed a memorandum drafted by The Association of Bona Fide Agricultural Producers to prevent the violation of weight and dimension standards in transporting agricultural produce.

The memorandum was signed by Maksim Zudin, CEO of Poultry Management Company and member of Cherkizovo Group's management board, in the presence of Ekaterina Roganova, executive director of the Association of Bona Fide Agricultural Producers.

'Fight Against Unfair Competition'

Zudin stated, “For Cherkizovo Group as a meat market leader and a socially responsible company, it is a must to join the fight against unfair competition in the freight transportation of agricultural supplies. We expect many more companies to sign the memorandum in the future.”

The event was attended by Sergey Yushin, head of the executive committee of the National Meat Association; Yuri Kovalev, director-general of the National Union of Swine Breeders; Sergey Lakhtyukhov, director-general of the National Union of Poultry Farmers; and Ekaterina Luchkina, executive director of the National Union of Meat Processors.

Deliberate Violations

The signatories will work together to prevent bona fide market participants from taking part in deliberate violations of these standards and cooperate with the authorities to identify and prevent such violations.
