In the USA, Italian cheese exports reached 17,800 tonnes in the first half of 2017, a result that confirms Italy's position as the leading supplier in the country, ahead of France (10,300 tonnes) and the Netherlands (7,100 tonnes). Today, 27% of cheese entering the USA hails from Italy.

Likewise, Italy has also been named top cheese exporter to Canada, with an amount of 2,400 tonnes this year, as well as in Switzerland, with 10,200 tonnes, in front of  Germany (8,800 tonnes) and France (6,700 tonnes).

Elsewhere, Assolatte noted that the Italian cheese market is continuously expanding in Australia, having reached 17% of imports.
