Nestlé Purina Opens First Factory in Poland

Nestlé Purina has opened its first factory in Poland, following a CHF93 million investment to help meet rising demand for pet care products in Central Europe.

With an estimated 13 million pets, Poland is the biggest pet food market in Central Europe. The new factory, located in Wroclaw in Southwest Poland, employs around 250 people.

“Investment in Poland and Central Europe is strategic to our business because of the vast potential for growth. This new factory reflects our desire to connect deeper with consumers in the region and expand our reach to millions more pets and their owners” said Bernard Meunier, chief executive officer, Nestlé Purina Pet Care Europe, Middle East and North Africa.

Nestlé Purina is planning to invest an additional CHF44 million by the end of 2015 to build additional capacity at the Wroclaw facility, Nestlé said in a statement.

Nestlé has been present in Poland since 1993 and currently operates nine plants in the country.
