WITRON has received a prestigious award in the category of 'Supply Chain Transformation of the Year', along with its customer Pepperl + Fuchs, at an event in Singapore.
The award was conferred by Supply Chain Asia, a non-profit organisation that acknowledges people and companies that render outstanding services to the logistics sector in the Asia-Pacific Region (APAC).
On 22 November last, WITRON's sales manager in Singapore accepted the award at an event attended by more than 500 guests, held in the luxurious Resort World Sentosa.
The winners were selected by a 13-member jury, comprising representatives from renowned Asian companies and universities.
Global Distribution Centre
The judges were impressed by the leading-edge processes and technologies applied at the Global Distribution Centre (GDC) which forms part of Pepperl + Fuchs’ Asia Pacific logistics network.
This facility was designed and realised by WITRON, and has been in operation since September 2016.
The intelligent processes in the GDC are characterised by numerous highlights: high work quality and cost-efficiency; an innovative goods-to-person solution; leading-edge workstations throughout the entire material flow; an intelligent linking of logistics, production, and distribution processes according to Smart Logistics 4.0, as well as the optimal use of existing space, which is of particular importance in Singapore.
