X5 Opens New Logistics Plant In Rostov

The X5 Retail Group has opened a new 30,200 sqm distribution centre in Rostov, Russia.

The site has three units for dry storage, low-temperature warehouses and temperature-controlled units.

It is capable of loading 260 trucks each day for distributing products to the retail banner Pyaterochka.

Pyaterochka operates 243 supermarket stores in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions.

The Minister for Economic Development of the Rostov region, Alexander Levchenko, said the new centre will offer greater opportunities to local producers as well as significantly reducing the ratio of imported food products in the Southern Federal District under conditions of the embargo.
