Finnish Retailer Kesko Posts 3.9% Decline In Sales In May

Finland’s Kesko Group has posted a 3.9% decline in sales from continuing operations in May, amounting to €936 million.

The company’s grocery trade division reported sales worth €458 million in the period, down 4.8% year-on-year.

Sales in the building and technical trade division increased by 4.7% in comparable terms, amounting to €420.6 million.

The company’s building and technical trade division, excluding speciality goods trade, witnessed a 4.6% comparable growth.

In the speciality goods segment, sales in the leisure trade increased by 8.4%, the retailer added. Reported sales in the building and technical trade increased by 1.1%.

The company’s car trade division generated sales of €59.3 million in May, down 23.5%.
