Nestlé Makes Its Human Rights Training Public

Global food giant Nestlé has announced that its human rights training for employees is now available to all.

The move will enable other organisations to access the training module and modify it to meet their specific requirements.

Global head public affairs Nestlé S.A., Christian Frutiger, said, "Businesses have a responsibility to respect human rights. By making our module publicly available we hope to inspire and help others, especially smaller organisations, who are facing similar challenges."

An E-Learning Tool

Nestlé's human rights training is an e-learning tool that enables employees to identify, analyse and resolve corporate human rights challenges across the company’s value chain.

It was developed in association with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, a national institution that protects and promotes human rights.

The training module comprises three chapters - understanding human rights, human rights challenges, and practical solutions.

It conveys complex information in simple language, without using legal and technical jargons.

Participants answer quizzes to progress to other sections of the module, ensuring maximum engagement.

More than 100,000 Nestlé employees across 72 countries have already participated in human rights training since 2011, and all employees are set to complete the training by 2020.
