Intermarché To Expand Organic Offering

Intermarché plans to expand its own label organic product offering with aims to boost sales in the category from €209 million to €300 million by 2015.

The French retailer is to introduce 85 new organic products to its private label range, said Anne Sainte-Marie, manager for private label at the retailer. She added, "Our own brand organic products will be about 30 per cent cheaper than the organic national brands."

Intermarché will not launch a specific organic line, and the new products will be added to its Pâturages, Chabrior and Jean Rozé private label ranges, according to Planet Retail. The retailer also has plans to develop a ‘100% Origine France’ offer to promote French products, beginning with fruit and vegetables in 2013. (21 Nov)
