Olympic fever is catching on in London as Waitrose launches its 'New World Food' line for its Good to Go range. Inspired by popular street foods from Vietnam, Morocco, Jamaica, Turkey, Madeira, Italy and Spain, the new range of convenient food to go includes roti, foccacia, pancakes, baguettes, salads and cakes.
Highlights of the range include a traditional Vietnamese bánh mì baguette (£3), with pulled pork, picked vegetables, coriander and chilli sauce and Moroccan spiced chicken parcels (£1.80), stuffed with spiced chicken and vegetables.
Sweet treats include a Tunisian orange polenta cake and a Middle East-inspired lime and ginger cake with Waitrose's own take on the popular coconut water, with a pineapple and passion fruit flavoured drink (£1.10).
The international line also includes an Indian paneer and aloo tikka roti (£2.60), a typically Spanish chorizo frittata (£3) and a tauok chicken salad with Turkish flavour (£2.60). (10 Aug)
