Italy’s La Molisana Pasta To Expand Distribution in Europe, USA

Italian pasta maker La Molisana is reportedly on the verge of signing distribution contracts with leading distributors in Europe and the USA, including Walmart.

In an interview with daily Il Sole 24 Ore, CEO Giuseppe Ferro also said that La Molisana should end 2016 with revenues of €180 million, a sum that will increase to €200 million by 2018.

The company is currently investing €11 million in a new short pasta line, new silos, packaging lines and packaging.

La Molisana is Italy’s fifth largest pasta producer, after Barilla, Divella, De Cecco and Garofalo.

The company ended 2015 with a turnover of €150 million, of which €80 million was derived from pasta and €70 million from semolina sales. During the first quarter of 2016, La Molisana reported double digit growth in foreign markets – 47 per cent in volume and over 50 per cent in value - with a strong performance in the USA, Canada, Japan, Spain and Brazil.
