Jean-Christophe Flatin Made Head Of Global Chocolate, Mars Inc.

Frenchman Jean-Christophe Flatin, current president of Royal Canin, has been appointed to the position of president, global chocolate, Mars Incorporated.

Flatin graduated from the prestigious business school ESCP Europe, which has campuses in Paris, London and Berlin. He joined Mars in 1992 and, over 22 years, occupied a number of positions in its international food and pet-care division (which operates in Italy, Germany, the UK and France).

From 2004 to 2006, he was purchasing director at Royal Canin, where he became the director of administration in January 2007, before becoming its president in November of that year.

He will assume his new position on 1 October in New Jersey, USA.

Flatin's predecessor, Grant F. Reid, stated, "We are very pleased to have a leader of Jean-Christophe’s calibre at the helm of the global chocolate business. Jean-Christophe’s proven leadership, strategic mindset and background in finance and general management will help continue the growth of this important segment within our business. It’s always fantastic when we live out our goal of promoting from within our own business."
