John Lewis Partnership Appoints Former M&S Boss To Board

UK retail group John Lewis Partnership, which operates John Lewis department stores and the Waitrose supermarket chain, has announced that Laura Wade-Gery is to be appointed as a non-executive director to the group's board.

Wade-Gery has held a number of senior roles in the retail sector in the UK, having previously been a director at Tesco, and head of store and online operations at Marks & Spencer. She was once tipped as a potential chief executive for M&S, but left the company in September last year.

Currently, she is also a non-executive director of the board of British Land, and a member of the UK government's Digital Advisory Board.

Building Strength

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Wade-Gery who brings a wealth of experience in business and retailing," said Sir Charlie Mayfield, chairman of the John Lewis Partnership.

"She will build on the strength and depth of the John Lewis Partnership Board."
