Mexico’s Lala Group Acquires Vigor Dairy Company

Mexican food company Lala Group has announced that it is acquiring 100% of Brazilian dairy company Vigor Alimentos.

The transaction is worth R$5.72 billion (€1.54 billion) and includes Vigor Alimentos’ shares in local dairy company Itambé Alimentos.

Initially, Lala will acquire 91.99% of the shares of Vigor from FB Participações and JBS. It may then purchase an additional 8% of shares from Arla.

Strategic Acquisition

Vigor operates 11 milk collection centres, 14 production plants, 31 distribution centres, and 67,000 points of sale in Brazil. Its portfolio includes yoghurt, cheese and other dairy products, marketed under the Vigor, Danubio, Faixa Azul, Serrabella Leco and Amelia brands, among others.

Lala Group operates 22 production plants and 160 distribution centres in Mexico, the US and Central America, and distributes more than 600 products to nearly 500,000 points of sale. Its product portfolio is led by the Lala and Nutri Leche brands.
