Bosnian Competition Authority Greenlights Mars Ice-Cream Distribution Deal

The Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina has ruled that the distribution contract between Ledo and Mars South Central Europe is not anti-competitive.

Based on a contract signed in January 2016, frozen food producer Ledo, part of Croatian food-to-retail consortium Agrokor, acquired the right to the sale and distribution of Mars ice cream in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the country’s competition authority, the contract does not constitute a prohibited agreement and does not result in the prevention, restriction or distortion of competition.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mars sells its chocolate, confectionery and pet products in the wholesale channel, through representative offices and local distributors.
