Croatia’s Ledo Expands Ice Cream Exports

Croatia-based ice cream manufacturer Ledo has increased exports to the UAE, building upon on an existing partnership with IFFCO Group.

The cooperation began in 2015, when Ledo began producing the King impulse ice cream for its Arab partner. From this year, the cooperation has been expanded to include the family ice cream Quattro.

The ice cream is transported directly from the Ledo factory to the UAE by sea, from the Port of Rijeka, to the destination ports in the Persian Gulf.

IFFCO exports to 30 African and Asian countries, and holds a strong market share in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.

Alongside the IFFCO Group, Ledo is also working with other large global companies, such as Kroger in the US, Tesco in the UK and Diplom Is in Norway.

Ledo is currently exporting a third of its production to 20 foreign markets, of which the most important, in terms of quantity, are Hungary, Slovenia, Norway and the USA.

As part of its cooperation with Unipex, Ledo has managed to expand to numerous new markets in Africa and Asia, where it hopes that its ice creams and other frozen products will have a great potential, according to the president of the Board of Ledo, Dario Vrabec.

Ledo is owned by Croatian food-to-retail group Agrokor.
