Lenta Opens Fourth Supermarket In Novosibirsk
Russian retailer Lenta has opened its fourth supermarket in the city of Novosibirsk, which is the company's twelfth store opening in 2017.
The new store has a total sales area of 924 square metres, and will feature an assortment of 3,600 products, including Lenta's private label, national product ranges, and local produce.
This brings the total number of Lenta stores to 195 hypermarkets in 78 cities across Russia, and 60 supermarkets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and the country's central region.
Last month Lenta reported that sales grew 16.3% to RUB 85.6 billion in the second quarter of the year, which the retailer attributes to its rapid growth plan.
The company recently signed an agreement for long-term leases of hypermarkets around Moscow currently operated under the Nash banner. The company plans to invest in renovating the sites, which will re-open under the Lenta brand in approximately two months.
