Lenta Opens First Three Supermarkets In Yekaterinburg

Russian retailer Lenta has opened its first three supermarkets in Yekaterinburg, in the Urals region of the country.

The three stores are located in different districts of the city, and all feature a product range of around 5,000 to 6,500 SKUs, including national product ranges, Lenta's private label lines, and local produce.

Continued Expansion

These stores are the retailer's first supermarkets in the Urals region, and brings the total number of Lenta stores to 201 hypermarkets in 79 cities across Russia and 64 supermarkets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and the Central region.

“The Urals is an important region for us," said Jan Dunning, Lenta's chief executive.

"Today, we already have 20 hypermarkets as well as our own distribution centre, successfully operating in the region, and we benefit from well-established contacts with numerous local producers."
