With more than 225 leading industry speakers, 2,300 industry attendees (including more than 350 CEOs), and dozens of tech startups set to attend, Shoptalk Europe is set to raise the bar even higher when it comes to retail conferences.

Following an opening reception last night, Shoptalk Europe gets underway today, Monday 9 October, at Copenhagen's impressive Bella Center, and runs until Wednesday 11 October.

Here's what guests can expect from each day.

The final day of Shoptalk Europe is a half-day affair, kicking off with presentations from the likes of Michael Ward, managing director, Harrods; Philip Krim, co-founder & CEO of mattress specialist Casper; and Julia Bösch, founder and managing director, of online personal style experts Outfittery, in the General Session area.

Following this, sessions will include presentations from Natalie Berg, director, retail insights, Planet Retail; Mirko Warschun, head of consumer industries and retail practice, A.T. Kearney; Mei Chen, international business, Alibaba Group and David Dubois, professor of marketing at INSEAD business school, among others, bringing to a close what is certain to be one of the most insightful events of the year.

Startup Culture

Of course, Shoptalk Europe is not just about inspiration from leading speakers - some of the industry’s most dynamic direct-to-consumer start-ups will also be in attendance, in the Exhibit Hall area.

The event will welcome start-ups including Farfetch (UK), LoveCrafts (UK), Vestiaire Collective (France), Birchbox (US), M.Gemi (US), Bloomon (Netherlands), Home24 (Germany), Mister Spex (Germany), JUNIQE (Germany), Fyndiq (Sweden), Trendyol (Turkey) and Ozon.ru (Russia), to name but a few.

Tech companies in attendance will include early-stage companies such as Clarifai (US), Sentient (US), NewStore (US), EVRYTHNG (US/UK), Blippar (UK), Starship Technologies (UK), Stuart (France), Blue Yonder (Germany), Adyen (Netherlands) and InPost (Poland), as well as a number of up-and-coming firms from Israel.

Put simply, Shoptalk Europe will be THE place to learn about how the technologies of the future are likely to disrupt the retail space, from the leading disruptors themselves.
