Lidl Belgium Opens New Store In Kampenhout

Discount retailer Lidl Belgium has announced the opening of a new store in Kampenhout on 4 October. The outlet, spread over an area of 1,600 square metres, will employ 30 staff.

It offers an assortment of 1,500 items, 90% of which are Lidl's own brand products. In addition, the store features a bakery where customers can find a wide range of fresh bread and cookies every day.

“We focus our attention on local products, which are increasingly appreciated by our customers," said Isabelle Colbrandt, Lidl Belgium's head of communication.

"We usually buy our vegetables and fruit directly from growers, in order to gain freshness and quality.”

Growth Strategy

This latest opening is part of Lidl's growth strategy, as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the country. It currently operates around 300 branches in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Earlier this week the retailer announced that it was expanding its grocery collection service in Belgium, by installing lockers at its stores in Evere, Hamme and Ekere, where customers can securely pick up their grocery orders.
