Mahou San Miguel Invests €1.2 Million In Granada Plant

Spanish brewing company Mahou San Miguel has announced that it invested €1.2 million at its Granada production facility in 2016.

This figure was 63% more than the company spent in the previous year, bringing the total investment in the plant to €9.2 million over the last decade.

The investment carried out last year focused on the development of 28 different projects aimed at sustainability, efficiency, and operational reliability. As a result, the facility was able to reduce its energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 8% compared the the previous year.

Local Contribution

The plant, which began operating in 1925, employs 80 staff and has a production capacity of 400,000 hectolitres per year.

"This production centre is very relevant in the strategy of Mahou San Miguel, hence the company continues investing to provide the latest technologies available to ensure its future sustainability and competitiveness," said Alfredo Dávila, director of the Granada facility.

The company generated €10 million for companies in Granada through the purchase of goods and services, and invested around €1.8 million in local initiatives in 2016.
