Maxima Grupė Establishes International Sourcing Arm

Lithuania-based Maxima Grupė has established a new procurement arm, Maxima International Sourcing, which will concentrate centralised purchasing competencies at the group.

The business will provide agency services to the group’s operations in the Baltics, Poland and Bulgaria, as well as develop private label brands and engage in wholesale activities.

Maxima Grupė said that the business will be established at the start of next year.

Maxima International Sourcing will be split off from Franmax, which currently provides franchise and agency services for the group’s companies.

Strengthen International Purchasing

“We will establish the new company with the aim of strengthening our international purchasing competencies,” said Dalius Misiūnas, the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Maxima Grupė.

“By doing that we will be able to ensure a clear division of functions among the group’s companies, faster decisions, as well as seek opportunities to acquire goods in different markets on better terms and with more efficiency.”

Maxima International Sourcing will be headquartered in Vilnius and will have 125 employees when fully operational.

Franmax will continue to provide franchise and support services for the group’s companies in the areas of IT, supply chain and stores development.
