Italian Retailers Bet On Organic Products And Stores

Italian retailer MD e LD Market has launched Bio, its new organic private label range designed for those who want to buy food free from pesticides, and that that has been produced in a manner that respects the environment.

The Bio range included everything from condiments, such as extra virgin olive oil, to staples such as eggs, pasta, and milk, as well as yoghurts and juices.

The entire line is subject to constant checks by certified bodies, such as ICEA, CCPB, BIOS and BIOAGRICERT, as well as MD’s own tests.

The organic product line can be found in all 725 stores under the MD Discount and LD Market banners.

MD Group isn’t the only Italian retailer exploring the organic sector. Crai recently unveiled Crai Bio, it’s own organic line featuring 60 different items from ambient groceries to fresh produce. Also part of the line are vegetarian and vegan favourites like tofu and seitan.
