Mid Europa Partners to Invest €100mn in Serbian Food Industry

Mid Europa Partners will invest €100 million over the next three to five years in its recently acquired Serbian companies Imlek, Bambi and Knjaz Miloš.

The UK-based investment fund earlier this month completed the acquisition of Danube Foods Group for €575 million within which these three companies operate, as well as two diaries in Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Imlek is the largest independent dairy business in the former Yugoslavia region, Bambi is a leading Serbian confectionery produce, while Knjaz Miloš is a leading Serbian producer of mineral water and other non-alcoholic beverages.

In future, the operations of the Serbian companies will be managed under the new name of "Moji Brendovi" (“My Brands”).

According to the new management, Imlek, Bambi and Knjaz Miloš are expected to become regional leader in their fields over the next period and this goal will be achieved through new investments, brands development and innovations which will also lead to the opening of new jobs.

With revenues of more than €400 million in 2014, Danube Foods Group represents the leading branded FMCG platform across the countries of the former Yugoslavia.

Mid Europa Partners is the largest investment fund in Central and Southeast Europe with over €4.2 billion of funds raised and managed.
