More Companies Added To Albert Heijn's 'Start-Up Shelf' Initiative

Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn has announced the addition of four food start-ups to its 'AH Startup Shelf' initiative.

The initiative gives food start-ups the chance to showcase their products for one week at selected Albert Heijn outlets.

In addition to its store in Gelderlandplein in Amsterdam, the company has also introduced start-up shelves in its Eemplein store in Amersfoort, and in its Limburglaan outlet in Eindhoven.

Last week, an Amsterdam based start-up, ThijsThee, unveiled iced teas made from rescued fruits in three of the supermarket chain's special shelves in the Netherlands, one of four startups that will be showcased through the initiative this month.

In the second week of September, another Amsterdam based start-up, Spruit, will offer responsible frozen meals for babies.

The last week of September will see the sale of fresh Dutch shrimps, captured over Groningen, by a start-up named Solt.
