Nestlé To Implement Equal Pay For Equal Work Policy

Nestlé has announced that it will accelerate efforts to implement equal pay for equal work in the organisation.

The food giant's global head of public affairs, Christian Frutiger, said, "At Nestlé, we aim to provide a workplace that generates equal opportunities for everyone, and in which people are treated with dignity and respect.”

The move is in line with Nestlé’s commitment towards achieving gender equality at all levels in the company.

The announcement was made at an event organised by the Equal Pay International Coalition in New York.

Previous Efforts

Since 2011, the company has implemented several measures to place women in leadership positions.

This was achieved by incorporating gender balance measures in all human resources practices, including recruitment, succession planning, and promotion.

Additionally, Nestlé has chalked out an action plan for diversity and inclusion across all markets.

The plan includes mentoring programs, flexible working arrangements, gender balance and unconscious bias training, maternity policy, and facilities like breastfeeding and nursing rooms.
