Exclusive Nordic Market Insights To Be Unveiled At Natural Products Scandinavia 2016

Global research firm Euromonitor International has been confirmed to host two exclusive market overviews at Natural Products Scandinavia 2016.

Taking place at MalmöMässan, in Sweden, on 16-17 November, Natural Products Scandinavia is the Nordic region’s biggest trade exhibition and conference dedicated to the natural health, beauty, eco-living, self-care, and food and drink markets.

Euromonitor International analysts David Ingemar Hedin and Dan Stratila, who both recently joined the show’s Natural Theatre line-up, will highlight the latest data and trends in the Nordic market for health and wellness foods and the Swedish vitamins and dietary supplements categories respectively. The sessions will give attending natural retailers and buyers (from across Scandinavia and beyond) new insights into untapped opportunities for growth in the region.

The show’s three-theatre seminar programme already includes other big names like entrepreneur Fraser Doherty MBE, founder of SuperJam – one of Scotland’s most iconic natural brands; Rebecca Wiegartner, head of key account management at Veganz – the first vegan supermarket chain in Europe; Marie Söderqvist, CEO of Livsmedelsföretagen (The Swedish Food Federation); naturopath and nutritionist Stephen Roigard from Skåne Health & Wellness clinic; and raw chef Viktor Ingmarsson.

Swedish VDS Market Set To Grow

According to the latest figures from Euromonitor International, the Swedish vitamins and dietary supplements market is forecast to grow steadily – at a CAGR of 5% – over the next five years.

Dan Stratila, from Euromonitor International, says the country’s “dominating health and wellness trend” has fuelled the “massive demand increase”.

He’ll be presenting the results of the latest edition of the ‘Euromonitor International and Svensk Egenvård Market Report’ at the show (including a detailed annual breakdown of Nordic sales figures of vitamins, dietary supplements and sports nutrition products) on 16 November at 3:30 pm.

“VDS are a mature market in Sweden, valued at SEK1.2 billon,” explains Stratila, “in spite of its maturity, there’s 5% growth in 2016 and an expected 5% CAGR until 2021.”

He says that the movement towards healthier, wellness-oriented lifestyles across Scandinavia has influenced personal attitudes, and, ultimately, impacted everyday spending habits.

“Nordic consumers are already well-known for their strong commitment to self care, and these latest figures from Euromonitor International illustrate, once again, that it’s far from a passing trend,” comments Natural Products Scandinavia’s event director Anne Seeberg.

“Scandinavian countries are responsible for some of the highest expenditure rates on natural and organic products in the world. So the show is perfectly geographically positioned for Nordic buyers – who make up around 80% of our visitors – to take advantage of this continuing shift in health awareness and meet the increasing demand for more naturally healthy, clean-label products.

“As in previous years, visitors will see plenty of new ideas and innovations across the health and wellness categories being previewed at the show in November,” she says.
